Pediatric adjustments: Three positions in which baby can be adjusted

There are SO MANY benefits to chiropractic adjustments for babies! They can help with colic, constipation, ear aches, reflux, and certain breastfeeding issues, just to name a few. Just like there are so many benefits to children getting adjusted, there are so many reasons taking a baby out of the house can be overwhelming. Moms wonder and worry if baby will need to feed, or nap, or if he will be fussy, etc. But the great thing about taking your baby to get adjusted is that there are several ways chiropractors can adjust babies, making it easy on mom and baby. Here are the three main positions in which babies can be adjusted so that you can feel confident bringing them to a chiropractic appointment:

#1 - Doctor holding baby: As you might assume, one way babies can get adjusted is when they are being held by the chiropractor. Bonus - this gives mom a few moments to have both of her arms free!

#2 - Baby in car seat: Did your baby fall asleep on the way to your appointment and you don’t want to disturb him? He can get adjusted in his car seat! Chiropractic adjustments are gentle enough that a skilled chiropractor can effectively adjust a baby’s neck while he remains comfortable in his car seat and often, baby will remain asleep.

#3: Mom holding baby: Does your baby only want to be held by you at all times? Or is he still not quite comfortable being held by others? Chiropractors can adjust babies while they are being held by mom. This position actually gives the doctor great access to your baby’s full spine so they can assess and adjust your little one.

Whatever situation you find yourself in, there is a means for your baby to get adjusted and everyone’s needs to be met.
